Things We Love Thursday - Sarah

Apparently I have a theme this week - cuts.

The paper-cuts of Henri Matisse

January 8 - 14, 2010

THEME: Song titles/lyrics vol. 1
THOUGHTS: I don't think we're going to draw as detailed as these every week. But I do think we'll do songs and/or lyrics again. So much material! Feel free to suggest some for us to draw in the future. Marissa's dad suggested her 1/14 song title, and yet he won't tell us what it means!

Things We Love Thursday - Marissa

I saw this poster by Frank Chimero recently and was struck by the composition (lovely!) and the sentiment (been there! always!).

RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan commissioned a reworking of Washington crossing the Delaware featuring himself as the father of our country and some of his pals in the painting as well. I kind of wish I'd thought of this first, but kudos to you, RZA, for thinking big. You can get yours here.

Ben Kehoe - his palette, his textures, his compositions (I love squares!), his trees.

Recovering Lazyholic's 12 Steps - good advice for everyone.

Sarah Caterisano's travel sketchbook - full of beautiful details and an enviably effortless feeling.
